President's Message

As the most long-standing nursing school in Macao, the development and growth of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau are the painstaking results of several generations. Under the leadership of the Kiang Wu Charitable Association (KWCA) and with the diligent work of all the present and former Members of Board of Directors of the College, Presidents, teachers and staff members, the College has gradually developed from a smaller scale to a larger scale, and from simple facilities to much more advanced ones. Since the founding of the College in Year 1923, it has been inheriting the excellent tradition of KWCA, promoting the educational philosophy of ˇ§From Personhood to Benevolenceˇ¨ and implementing the people-oriented teaching concept. In addition, it has been committed to educating and guiding students, establishing and confirming benevolence and care as the core of its values, and leading teachers and students to develop scientific thinking, encouraging them to be courageous, active and motivated, and to realize their ambitions of serving the community and striving for the well-beings of the public.
The College will enter its 90th anniversary of founding in Year 2013. Through organizing a series of celebratory activities, the College would like to achieve five aims: 1. to inherit and convey the spirit of Kiang Wu and carry forward the educational philosophy of ˇ§From Personhood to Benevolenceˇ¨; 2. to promote the development of nursing profession and nursing education; 3. to encourage the exchanges between KWCA, staff members, students and alumni, and increase their sense of belonging to the College; 4. to publicize and promote all citizensˇ¦ health care; 5. to facilitate the establishment of the new campus and together march towards the centennial anniversary of the College.
After nine decades of hardships in forging the College, hard work finally pays off. All teachers, staff members and students deeply cherish the achievements that the College has gained for now. Meanwhile, the College will persevere to stimulate the development of nursing education, foster a greater number of high-calibre talents of health sciences, create new knowledge, and keep up the efforts to care about the society and work for the benefits of Macao citizens.
