KWNC Staff Launch Investigation Journey to Portugal
Leaded by KWNC President Van Iat Kio, joined by CNHK Vice-president Dr Alice Tsang , a delegation of over twenty staff members of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau started on an investigation journey for Portugal and Spain on July 20 th . The overseas exchange activity was aiming to explore the higher nursing education development status and its characteristic in Portugal, to share experience in teaching, to get a general understanding of the Portuguese medical care through visit to the local institutions. Meanwhile, members also went sight-seeing around scenic spots of these two countries to appreciate the humanistic environment in the locality.
The delegation paid visit to the Advanced Nursing College of Lisbon where baccalaureate and postgraduate programmes including Gerontological Nursing and Oncology Nursing are running. Members had thorough talks and view exchanges with the College President and International Affairs Coordinator over the issues of medical & nursing development and nursing programmes design in Macau, Hong Kong , Portugal and worldwide, exploring feasibility of cooperation between the two Colleges. Members also met the former Deputy Director of Heath Bureau of Macau Dr. Kan , who explained in details t he operation modes of the local health centres as well as the development situation of some reforms put into effect for the recent years. On visits to the two health centres, members had good exchanges with the directors and nurses there and had an interview with the former Secretary of the Secretariat for Heath Service of Macau Ms. Ana Perez. They were also received by Mr. Raimundo Arrais do Rosario , Chief of the Macao Economic and Trade Representative Office in Lisbon , having hot discussion and exchange of views between both parties over topics of culture, health and education between Macau and Portugal . The Office had provided kind assistance for the exchange activity including Sino-Portuguese translation service. Other visited unit also included the Tourism Promotion & Consulting Centre of Macau in Portugal . |
