To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC), two affiliated associations of Students’ Union – Sports Club and English Club co-organized an entirely exceptional Sports Meet on 5 October 2012. Students, teachers and staff were invited to form themselves into groups and participate in the contests. The Sports Meet is the first event of the celebration activity series of the 90th College anniversary organized by the Students’ Union. This Meet carries the theme of showcasing the achievements of the Students’ Union and its affiliated associations. Instead of arranging traditional lectures, in this activity, the Sports Club and English Club combined English learning and sports activities in the form of various contests, and through which they hoped to demonstrate what they had learned. In the opening speech, KWNC President Van Iat Kio encouraged students to take part in extra-curricular activities more often, apply the knowledge learned in class to the activities, and develop their learning career. After delivering the speech, President Van gave commands to the two tug-of-war teams and officially announced the commencement of the celebration activity series of the 90th College anniversary. After four rounds of exciting contests, the final championship was attained by the team of Year 3 students. The same team also received the best English Cheerleading Slogan Award, conferred by President Van and Lecturer Kong Mei Iong.
