KWNC Observes a Moment of Silence for theˇ§18 September Incidentˇ¨

The Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) observe s a moment of s ilence at 9:18am to mark the 81 th Anniversary of the ˇ§18 September Incidentˇ¨, commemorat ing and express ing grief for our compatriots who were killed and /or died for the country in the war against the Japanese invaders , and to register our protest against the Japanese government.

In the past few days, residents of the entire country and Chinese citizens around the globe were filled with anti-Japan sentiment due to Japan 's recent move of ˇ§nationalizingˇ¨ the Diaoyu Islands . People in China and even in other parts of the world held various activities one after another to oppose Japan 's invasion to the Diaoyu Islands . The Kiang Wu Nursing College also serious ly condemns the shameful act of Japan and strongly requests the Japan ese government to respect China's territorial sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands and to immediate withdraw the ridiculous act of so-called ˇ§purchaseˇ¨ of the Islands. In the mean time, the College calls for all teaching staff and students to study history, especially the contemporary Chinese history, and never forget our national humiliation . All teaching staff and students should strictly protest against the barbaric act of the Japanese government; however, we are reminded to express our demands in a calm and rational manner.

Passion for peace and pursuit of advancement are the ever lasting spiritual wealth that supports the Chinese nation at all times and they are to be conveyed, inherited and carried forward.
