Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau has jointly held a course of Elderly Health Care with Social Welfare Bureau, together with the coordination and support of other community homes. It was a 60-hour programme, involving 29 nurses coming from 14 homes and institutions all over Macau . The content of the course included, apart from those supplied by nurses, recent health care for the aged, mental health and interpersonal communication, knowledge of medication and emergency, ethical and social problems, Macau's long term care services and institutional infection control, etc.

The closing ceremony of the course was held in Lecture Theatre I of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau on 20 February 2012, attended by Head of Department of Social Solidarity Mr. Sio Un Choi, Head of Elderly Service Division Ms. Lam Pui Seong of Social Welfare Bureau, College Consultant Ms. Lo Siu Ha, heads of community and residential care centres, President of KWNC Ms Van Iat Kio, and Deputy Executive Officer of Extra-Mural Studies Department Ms. Lau Gar Bo, etc. Certificates were awarded to all course participants as well as the outstanding students.
