KWNC and SYSU launch MNS Programme
Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau and Sun Yat-Sen University signed a cooperative agreement to launch a Master of Nursing Science Programme for the purpose of raising the academic standard of nursing education in Macau and pushing development of nursing profession to a higher level. Attended and witnessed by leaders from the Liaison Office of Central People's Government in the Macao SAR and Kiang Wu Hospital, the representatives from Sun Yat-Sen University Nursing School and Graduate School , an agreement signing ceremony was held in KWNC’s lecture theatre the evening Nov. 4th, 2009 between the two parties. Deputy Dean of Graduate School of SYSU Zhou Yun and President of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau Van Iat Kio signed the agreement to mark the launch of cooperation. |

Being one of the leading universities in the People’s Republic of China and directly under the Ministry of Education, Sun Yat-sen University is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary and research-oriented university. Approved by the Ministry of Education, with the proposal having been submitted to the Tertiary Education Services Office of Macau SAR, The MNS Programme will launch admission to Macau’s part-time self-supporting graduates in nursing profession in 2010. It is expected that a great number of nursing talents of high-level will be developed and trained well in Macau SAR through the Programme with the support of SYSU’s strong teaching background. Both the two institutions will give full play to their teaching resources.
Right after the ceremony, an interpretation lecture of the MNS Programme was held. The Programme’s duration is 3 years, enrolling Macau BIR residents in number of 20 and will begin in Sept. 2010. Participants who successfully complete the Programme will be awarded the Master’s degree of Sun Yat-Sen University.
