A conference titled "Nursing Care and Nurse Education" was held on the occasion of the 85^th anniversary of the founding of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau. Cross-Straits (Mainland – Taiwan – Macau – Hong Kong) nursing professionals and nurse educators, nursing teachers and students, clinical nurses were invited to attend the conference, of which, the aim was to explore the essence and features of nursing care; to share nursing and nurse educational experience; to inspire caring concern, promote nursing care development and enhance impartation of nursing knowledge; to reflect on the achievements and insufficiency of the current nursing care and nurse education.

The conference was divided into two sessions, the Keynote Lecture by experts and the Students Forum. The keynote speakers were invited from the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the 1^st Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, the College of Nursing of Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau. Teacher and Student delegations from the Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology, the School of Health Sciences of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Guangzhou Medical College , Zunyi Medical College and Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau were present at the Students Forum.

Around three hundred other guests including MPI Vice President Professor Yin Lei, Director Lo Sio Ha of Nursing Department of KWH, representatives from the University Hospital of MUST and the local health care communities, the teachers and students of MPI and KWNC, etc. also attended the one-day conference.
